Ragdoll Kittens for Sale near Seattle

We are in Vancouver, Washington, which is the wrong end of the state if you live in Seattle. About 190 miles, nearly all of it I-5. That distance is the first thing Puget Sound families ask about, so it is the first thing on this page.

We have been breeding since 2017, and Puget Sound has sent us families the whole time. Kittens from here have gone home to Seattle, Bellevue and Tacoma. The trip is well worn by now, so we can be specific about it instead of vague.

The drive, honestly

Maps will tell you two hours and forty minutes. That is true at six on a Sunday morning. Plan on three, and closer to four if you leave Seattle after two on a weekday.

The stretch that backs up is south of Tacoma, through Lakewood and past Joint Base Lewis-McChord, and it does it in both directions. Once you are past Olympia the rest is usually clear all the way to the Columbia.

Most families set out mid-morning, spend an hour or so at our house, and are home for dinner. Some make a weekend of it and stop in Portland on the way back. We would rather you were not rushing. The first half hour with the kitten is worth having.

If you are on Bainbridge, Vashon or over on the Kitsap side, add a ferry at each end and treat it as a full day.

Flying instead, and why we usually talk families out of it

It is possible. A flight nanny carries your kitten in the cabin as their carry-on and hands it to you at Sea-Tac, in the cabin the whole way and never in cargo. Our family runs PDX Flight Nanny, a cats-only service out of Portland International, so we can arrange the whole journey ourselves. You are welcome to book a different nanny. We would rather tell you about the connection than have you find it out afterwards.

For 190 miles the numbers rarely work. You are paying several hundred dollars, the kitten is still in a carrier for a couple of hours plus two airports, and you lose the part where you see the room it grew up in. We suggest flying when a schedule leaves no alternative.

Meeting us at PDX is the third option. It is fifteen minutes from our door, and it suits families connecting from further afield more than it suits Seattle.

What being in-state actually saves you

Families outside Washington spend real effort on entry rules. Rabies age minimums are set by the destination state, and they are the usual reason a pickup date slips by two weeks. None of that applies to you. Pick a date, drive down, take your kitten home.

It also means you can come twice if you want to. Some families visit once while the litter is small and again at pickup. That is a harder ask from Florida.

A house with five children in it

Our kittens grow up in the middle of our family, with five kids and our dogs. They are handled daily from the first week. By the time one goes home it has been picked up slightly wrong, carried around, and walked past by a dog, and none of it worries them.

If your house is busy, that helps. A kitten used to noise settles into more noise easily. Going the other way is harder, which is the argument for asking any breeder where the kittens actually live.

Price

Every kitten is $2,700, the same whatever the color, pattern or sex, spayed or neutered and microchipped before pick-up, with a $500 deposit to reserve that comes off the total. We price flat on purpose, so nobody pays a premium for whichever pattern is in fashion and nobody feels nudged toward a kitten because it is the cheaper one. What comes with the kitten

The same as anywhere else we place. TICA or CFA registration in whichever registry you pick, both parents DNA tested clear for HCM and PKD and blood typed, age-appropriate vaccinations, a three-year genetic health guarantee, and someone at the end of an email for as long as you have the cat. Kittens are spayed or neutered and microchipped here before pick-up, and the registration papers come home with the kitten.

The rest of Washington

Kittens from here have also gone to Tacoma, Olympia and as far east as Spokane. Spokane is a different problem from Seattle. It is a six-hour drive or a flight, so it has more in common with our out-of-state page than with this one.
